STOP PRESS – WE HAVE WON!
The Secretary of State has today finally confirmed the decision on the proposed railfreight terminal at Radlett Aerodrome and STRiFE is delighted to announce that the appeal has been REFUSED. This has been a long drawn out campaign for us and we cannot thank our team members and supporters enough for their unstinting efforts (and donations) to see this scheme off. We will follow up with a more detailed press release shortly.”

More details of the scheme can be found here but, briefly, these comprise: · Development of over 300 acres of Green Belt land · 3000 extra Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV)s every night and day · 3.5 million sq ft of warehouse accommodation in 5 buildings · 12 freight trains, each up to 750 metres long, every day, all year round · A rail link to the Midland Mainline · Car parking on site for 1665 cars · All HGVs going onto the A414 to join the M25, M1, M10, and the A1M · No new link on to the M25 Motorway, so all road traffic using the terminal having to use the existing local road network · Factories for the assembly of goods may be included
